The MU Student Center was dedicated on the Friday of Homecoming Weekend. Alumni, students, and friends gathered as the celebration was kicked off with free Shack burgers, named after the bar that once resided on campus. The visitors also received greetings from Truman the Tiger and Beetle Bailey, Mizzou alum Mort Walker’s famous creation.
The dedication was kicked off with a welcome from Jeffrey Zeilenga, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Other speakers included Missouri Students Association President Tim Noce and Catherine Scroggs,, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. The event ended with a closing from Chancellor Brady Deaton and, as expected, a singing of the alma mater.
Noce said it best when he said, “we wanted to get rid of the stones from Kansas that made our Brady Commons, and so we have replaced them with ones from Missouri.”
